German musician Sebastian Swigon aka Sestatee had the misfortune to grow up in the rather grim surroundings of postmodernist prefab estates. But when it comes to his own music, these memories have not translated into melancholy or darkness - with grace, humour and subtlety Sestatee skilfully twists timeless easy listening grooves and current beats into a tricky, laid-back big band sound. Above and beyond his many releases, awards for short film scores and compositions for other bands this media-shy all-rounder has already supported a number of well known acts (like Massive Attack) and fosters young, unknown artists. After the latest Sestatee release “3blue” and a contribution to “Merging Lounge Pearls Vol. 3” we can expect a further EP premiere by this versatile artist early next year.
